WaMu.com

At WaMu (wamu.com), we believe our commitment to great customer service starts with our respect for each and every employee. That’s why we created a company culture that enables almost 50,000 “WaMulians” to achieve individual success and stand out in the crowd.

In turn, their achievements have made us one of the fastest-growing financial services companies in the country. If you want to work within a company that knows how to have fun, values diversity, and recognizes and rewards great talent, you couldn’t be in a better place.

A history of friendly service.

From the Great Seattle Fire of 1889 and recession after World War I, through the early-1980’s thrift collapse and late-1990’s business boom, Washington Mutual has always been there for its customers. In fact, during the 100-plus years since our humble beginnings as the Washington Mutual Building Loan and Investment Association, we’ve pioneered a number of innovative products and services that make banking easier and more efficient. For example, we were part of the first shared cash machine network in the nation. And we made the first monthly-installment home loan on the West Coast over a century ago, in 1890. (wamu.com)

Today, we proudly serve customers, from individual account holders to leading commercial clients, by offering a diversified line of products and services. Our mission is clear — to become the leading retailer of financial services to everyday people.(wamu.com)

A focused strategy for success.

WaMu has always believed in change — for the better. Such change has enabled our employees to continually reinvent the way they deliver a wide range of financial services. As we continue to implement initiatives to increase productivity and ultimately enhance our customer service experience across the organization, we’re also focused on continued growth in the markets where we do business.(wamu.com)

The benefits of being among the best.

The best employees in the business deserve competitive benefits, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

We’ve put together a package that provides flexible benefits for health care, professional learning and development, retirement, community service, and managing work and personal life. Benefits include company-sponsored health coverage, a company-matched 401(k) plan, a cash balance pension plan that’s 100% paid by WaMu, and free or discounted products.(wamu.com)

Employees are also encouraged to give back to their local communities, thanks to our Committed Active Neighbors program (CAN). This program enables employees across the company to take up to four hours of paid time per month to volunteer in their community. Our commitment to communities goes even further. Our 10-year, $375 billion Community Commitment is helping provide affordable lending to neighborhoods across the country.

Are you ready for WaMu?

As we grow to meet the needs of the communities we serve, we’re looking for folks in a variety of disciplines — from branch services and community relations, to information technology and administrative services.
